Greetings Folks! Haven't been around here much lately... Work, family, gigging have all been taking more time and leaving little for forum stuff...
Hope you're all doing well and had a great Christmas and Happy New Year!
I recently acquired my first resonator guitar, a Whipple Creek '35 Gibson Trojan copy with all solid mahogany. Single cone and biscuit bridge. What pickup do you recommend for the warmest and most natural sound? Been looking a K&K and Shatten NR-2, but I know there's a lot more out there. Any suggestions? What are you using?
Probably not hum-bucker or single coil. On-board volume a plus, so I can make same level as my other non-reso guitars.
Thanks!
David
Hey there bud...Fishman sells a passive pickup that mounts to the underside of the biscuit screw. No controls but was a decent sounding pu.I'm not sure if they still make it.
i use the national hot plate. its all built in to a replacement cover plate.

Thanks Unclrob and rosemusic. Talked to Steve Olson at Eldery. He pioneered a new pickup that was recommend to my by a luthier here in town.
