Title: All new Taylor 800 series
Post by: mas music on March 18, 2014, 10:11:54 PM
To celebrate its 40th anniversary Taylor has redone it"s 800 series guitars. Everything has changed, the bracing, the finish, the glue, the strings, the thickness of the woods. I had the chance to strum a few chords on one. In the end this is something a new , a warm sounding Taylor. Very nice guitar, out of my price range but sweet indeed.

It's the focus of one of their recent editions of Wood & Steel (Vol. 78 / Winter 2014). Most Taylor dealers probably still have a few of these magazines lying around (that's where I got it).

I'm not a big fan of Taylor tone (BUT - I haven't heard one of the new 800's); I will say they build very classy looking and well playing guitars that LOTS of people want to own and play - gotta give Bob Taylor kudos for that.

I've pretty much liked everyone I've played but unfortunately ... they are ... chick guitars.  :roll

So Taylor Swift will play one, but James Taylor won't?   :bgrin:

I always pictured James Taylor taller.

I'm wondering why he leaves his pants up and won't let go of his guitar to poop. Kinda sad.  :laughin:
