Title: Parlour pick ups
Post by: Maggie on February 10, 2014, 02:46:55 PM
Tried to put a L R Baggs M1A in my new Parlour and discovered that it is too big. Has anyone put a pickup up in their Parlour, and if so what worked and you liked?

Is it really too big?  I don't know for certain, but perhaps you haven't tried the following installation method (which might work):

1)  Remove the holding wing(s) completely.

2)  Set the pickup on top of the sound hole.

3)  Reattach the holding wings.

this is a complicated procedure, as it requires some degree of fiddling with fingers holding the bottom part of the wigs, in a somewhat cramped space....
The fishman rare earth can be equally troublesome for the same reasons....

Thanks all. Because of the very small diameter sound hole, and the fact that when a sound hole pickup is put in place there is very little room to work inside to try and secure the wings and the wiring, I decided to have the K&K Mini pickup installed in the Parlour. There are times to leave things to the pros.

The K & K works perfectly in my Parlour.
