Title: Old Martin 00-21
Post by: cbarclay on January 25, 2013, 03:19:11 AM
I stopped in a local guitar shop today to pick up a few picks.  I was hoping to check out the fabled Martin 000-15SM they were supposed to have in stock.  It wasn't there but a 1976 Martin 00-21 was.  I've always wanted to try one of these.   Boy did that thing sound amazing!  Crisp, clear and loud!  Plays light butter too.  Didn't even notice the 1 7/8" nut width.  Good thing there's no way I can afford it.

I tried another Martin 000-15SM just this afternoon.  It was rather disappointing.  Wasn't anywhere close to the one I had planned to buy a couple of weeks ago.  Didn't have the string to string balance I'd expected, and wasn't nearly as responsive as the other one.   I'm still on the hunt for a good 000-15SM though.

I did try the new OM-21 with the ebony fretboard/bridge.  Man, those are s-w-e-e-t-!
