My gut feel would be John Pearse Phosphor Bronze Lights, and a K&K plus the K&K Pure Preamp.

On the strings, when I get a new (even just new to me) guitar, I go through several sets of strings.  Light, med, bluegrass in PB and 80/20.  The strings from WebStrings are cheap (something like $3 or so a set) and sound pretty good but don't last long.  I order several sets from them and try them out for 3 or 4 days per set (less if they don't suit te guitar and more if they sound especially good).  When I figure out which material/gauge is best for that given guitar, I switch to Pearse.

I like the sound of the K&K and their preamps have always done exactly what I need.

We expect pics of the guitar when it arrives.   :cheers

Ed

Congrats! Curious where you got a special order of that model filled and want to see pics also.

I've always been a fan of Elixar's. I have the Phos-Bronze Nano Custom lights on my 00-05.

 :nice guitar:

Good for you. I like the sound of my oo with D'Addarios EJ24s. They combine lights and meds. And Im happy with bband's AST. Very simple and very effective at producing natural acoustic sound, per Bob Colosi. The oo' s are delightful little guitars.

Normally my favorite strings are Martin SP Phosphor Bronze.

I ordered some 80/20's a while back and absolutely hated the way they sounded on my OM-03R.  I ran out of strings again and needed to restring my wife's OM03 (mahogany) and used one of the packs of 80/20s and really liked the way they sounded.

I normally recommend Phosphor Bronze, but don't be afraid to try 80/20s on smaller mahogany boded guitars.

A string I don't see mentioned here is Ernie Ball Acoustic Guitar - Earthwood, Medium Light, .012 - .054.

I've got them on my 00-03MT F-IV and like them a lot.
