Here are three items for this weekend that may be of interest to you.

1) HANDS-ON GUITAR WORKSHOP with ACOUSTIC GUITAR SUMMIT

Saturday, December 11;  3-5 p.m.
St. Anne's Chapel, Marylhurst University
17600 Hwy 43
10 minutes south of Portland,
on the border of Lake Oswego and West Linn

If you've ever wanted to play with the Acoustic Guitar Summit, here is
your chance!

Prior to their 8 p.m. concert, Terry Robb, Doug Smith and Mark Hanson of
Acoustic Guitar Summit will present a hands-on guitar workshop at St.
Anne's Chapel at Marylhurst University.

The group will discuss ensemble playing, developing the skills required
to play in a group, and how a group arrangement might evolve. They will
also hand out chord charts so everyone can play tunes together. Voila!
The Acoustic Guitar Summit Big Band!

The group will also open the floor to any and every guitar question you
may want to ask. Lots of fun in store for everyone! Players of all
levels welcome. Bring your guitars in standard tuning.

Fee: $35.00. Limited number of tickets available.

Tickets: Tickets for this workshop are no longer available through the
Accent On Music website; some tickets are still available through
Pioneer Music in downtown Portland and at the door.

2) ACOUSTIC GUITAR SUMMIT - 10th ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT

The Pacific Northwest's premier acoustic fingerstyle guitar ensemble -
Terry Robb, Doug Smith and Mark Hanson, known as Acoustic Guitar Summit
- returns for its 10th annual holiday concert on Saturday, December 11,
at St. Anne's Chapel on the campus of Marylhurst University. The concert
begins at 8:00 p.m. Marylhurst is located on Hwy 43, 10 minutes south of
Portland on the border of Lake Oswego and West Linn.

General admission tickets for the concert are $15 in advance, and are
available at Pioneer Music in Portland, Lake Music in Lake Oswego, and
Adrian Guitars in Oregon City. Tickets for this concert are no longer
available through the Accent On Music website.

WORKSHOP #1 - (12:15 p.m.) Arranging Standards for Fingerstyle Guitar
In this workshop Mark discusses his unique arranging method, and teaches
two of his best: Ray Charles' "You Don't Know Me" as Mark recorded it on
his new CD "Author's Notes."  Plus his fun  solo arrangement of
"Swinging On A Star" ("Would you like to play the guitar;
carry money home in a jar..."). Fee: $40.00.*

WORKSHOP #2 - (2:45 p.m.) "Fingerstyle Christmas"
         Mark has published two great Christmas books, plus two videos,
a DVD, and a solo CD of Christmas music. This workshop includes
instruction for two of Mark's best arrangements: "The Christmas Song
(Chestnuts)," and "White Christmas," both from his "Yuletide Guitar"
CD.  Two versions are available for players of different abilities.
Added bonus: Two renditions of "Rudolf," one easy, and the other Mark's
jazzy arrangement from the "Yuletide Guitar" CD. Fee: $40.00.*
