Title: Played a Bakersfield Today
Post by: Barefoot Rob on September 02, 2011, 07:19:26 PM
Ok let me start out with this I'm a Tele junkie and I'm not a fan of Duncan pu's.

The one in stock was a nice burst with a really wonderful neck which had a flawless finish to it.The neck shape was kinda C in feel and fit in my hand as if I owned it forever. The set up was you basic general thing BUT very playable and felt like it was shipped with 10-46.The playability of the fingerboard was also easy and comfortable.I was able to get harmonics almost anywhere I wanted. The body contours are not my thing but didn't get in the way for someone like me who like's slab body feel.Overall a really nice custom made Tele that if I had the dime I'd drop it in a second.
Onto the pu's it came with the Bakersfield neck pickup that is a very lush usable pu and the interaction with the volumn control and the tone control which by the way had a really wide sweep with lots of usable tone's beyond my dreams. The bridge is a Real Broadcaster and was almost as attack sensitive as a P90 and like the neck PU very usable.I could also get that real bark of the original broadcaster pu.The gang at Larrivee has done the style proud and if I can ask if I could get one on loan to promote I'd be very,VERY  gratful. :wave

Joyce was that fast enough I played it 11:30,fix 3 guitars when I got home and posted my reveiw soon after that.

I gotta say and don't take this wrong but as good as any of my builds that I gig with.Only change I'd make is I would reverse the controls to Volumn, tone then toggle but thats just me.

I like that arrangement, too:

(I wonder if Matthew would set mine up this way if I requested it?)

This layout give's great access to do volumn swells and tone swells and wha wha effects. If they change I know about 40 guy's here in tone who would be upset as they feel there the only one's that I've done this for.Mine have been setup this way since the earlly 80's.I convertwd every tele I've owned to that setup.
