Title: Making a pickguard
Post by: guitom on November 17, 2010, 10:12:03 PM
I'm going to make a pickguard for my L-05.  It came with an oversized one and the suntan is too apparent to let it go.  I'd love to see pictures of Larrivees with pickguards added.  I need some ideas for color and shape, although I'll likely use the current Larrivee pg shape.

You'll need to buy a sheet of self-adhesive pickguard material.I'm not sure of the thickness's that are available.Buy extra incase of "OH CR*P,I messed that up".Triple check your sizing before cutting.

I always thought that getting a bunch of clown barf or sunburst swirl (or whatever you call it) flatpicks and gluing them on, mosaic like, in the shape of a pick guard would be really cool. I've done a modest version in order to fix a cracked and broken pick guard on an old mandolin and it gave me ideas. I'll do it someday. Never on a Larrivée, mind you.  At least not mine.
