Post by: JOYCEfromNS on April 14, 2010, 04:21:12 PM
Saw this on EBay from a reputable EBay seller: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330423670977&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:VRI

Firstly I have absolutely no vested interest in this Git. only a luv affair with RS 4's

This gotta be a very rare RS4 I heard of only two all white RS 4's but never heard of an all black up until now!!!!

Man it looks some nice  :nice guitar:

It's a rare bird anyone ever hear an all black BEAUTY before now  :?  :?  :?

Unfortunate that the photos aren't better. I'll have to take his word for it that it's all black.

Judging from the pics, I'd say it's all black...

...imagine how sweet this guitar would look with GOLD hardware...

Can you say RS-4 CUSTOM?!?!?!??   :arrow

Man she's a "BEAUT" for sure! I personally think the chrome hardware and tuner keys look
"FAB" with the all black body! :thumb

Sometimes Gibson lists them as "ebony" which means "black" of course...

I'd also venture that it really is opaque black paint - like the white one that went through Guitar Adoptions a year or so ago. I say that in part because it has the Larrivee in house pickups, which makes it more recent, and it seems like Larrivee has been very willing lately to step "outside the box" with their electrics when it comes to colors, top woods and options (like the gold plated hardware).  Even the pics on their website show a solid/opaque "magenta" sort of color on an RS-4 that isn't a standard stain or color option.

And while I'm really NOT that crazy about gold hardware, on either a black or white RS-4 it would look killer! (Of course, it really would ['wood'] require an ebony fingerboard, too!)
