I got a Larrivee 2009 catalogue in the mail yesterday, and I noticed all models including the electrics except the 03-, 50- and 60-series are listed with Schaller M6 chrome machines as standard.
I'm quite happy with the machines on my guitars, but I happen to know that some folks on this forum aren't. :winkin:
Nice upgrade (though I like Gotohs better). Next they should do bone nut and saddle and wood neck binding.
I don't want to put a dampner on this, but I have recently read that Schaller are under new management, and quality and consistency of their products are being questioned. I have read this in a couple of unrelated sources.

Does the catalog mention the tuners on the mandolins? :?
If they're not Schaller......they are dead ringer knock-offs.

The catalogue merely states "Casted Engraved Tuners" for the mandolins.

RE Neck binding, I`ve had maple neck binding on my OMV but Jean thinks that the ivoriod is a better option, thats why he uses it, it doesn`t stain or darken as maple does and it`s more durable when capo`s are used. Cheers, Pete

Plastic body binding would be more durable/protective too -- I just think wood looks a lot nicer. Or for the neck just do black.
