Title: Pickguard glue
Post by: aarra on February 11, 2009, 11:34:05 AM
Does anyone know what glue is used for the pickguard.  I am considering replacing the pickguard on my OM-05.  The luthier asked me to find out about the glue.  I've emailed Larrivee but no response yet.  Thanks for any help and suggestions.

I wonder why? I've had all my PG's removed by my Luthier with no issue whatsoever. It was a litle trickier with a Satin Finish and they were very, very careful, but i can't recall the type of glue mattering. If it helps they used a heat gun.

Yeh, why would it matter? It's some kind of typical spray or sheet adhesive, it's not epoxied on or anything.

Frankly, I'm not sure why he needs that information either, but I if it makes it easier for him, why argue.  Can anyone give me an idea what this should cost so that I'm not ripped off?  Thanks again.

It costs me $30.  I can't imagine it would be more or much more to install one.

I had the pickguard for my L-05MT come with the guitar but not installed. It had a 3M adhesive sheet applied to the back of it.
