For those on the forum who might be in the UK, news of a forthcoming concert:
American guitarist Duck Baker is one of the foremost fingerstyle guitar players - in a wide variety of styles ("Celtic", jazz, blues, ragtime, swing, old-time) - in the world. He currently lives in the UK and travels extensively, giving workshops and concerts in the US and Europe.
Duck will be giving a concert on 4th April 2009 at the Players Theatre in Hurstpierpoint (West Sussex) - a rare appearance for him in the South-East of England.
Details of Duck and the concert can be seen at: www.mjra.net/WillFly/dbconcert.shtml
The theatre holds 85 people, so we're anticipating being sold out - if you're interested in coming to see Duck play and live within striking distance, don't waste any time! As well as his distinctive nylon-strung guitar, Duck will probably be playing a high-end Larrivée OM model as part of the sponsorship of the concert by a local store...
Regards,
Will
Would love to hear Duck on a Larrivee! Alas, I'm over here in the States. Hope it's a great show!
Congrats Will. I know you were talking about getting this together a few months ago. Good to hear from you, hope all is well.
I'd be there if I could.
For you that haven't been to Will's site, check it out. He seems to be humble but he's a very fine guitarist with tons, like over a hundred, video's of great songs, tabs, some instructional stuff. I'm working my way thru videos and enjoying them all. Good basic lessons on some riffs too. Some of which are basic but a different twist than is usual.
