Post by: Zohn on December 31, 2008, 05:59:48 AM
I'm on Steve White's "Christmas wishing"-list. Alda sent me this link of his latest videos now available on You Tube. Good stuff by an amazing artist...
Enjoy!
 :winkin:
Hi Friends & Fans,
here are the new Youtubes from Steve's Fall tour recorded at Gitaar Salon, Ebkhuizem (NL) last October.
Enjoy and pass it on if you like them...

No Peter, I actually got "introduced" to him by a mutual friend in Johannesburg (South Africa). He gave me a live CD of Steve's,recorded in Hungary,  and after listening to it, I was totally hooked. Steve is a unique and most gifted blues writer and performer.
Steve endorsed AER (German) acoustic amps, and Taylor guitars for a long time, but I noticed he uses Martin Dreadnaughts lately. I highly recommend him if you haven't seen or heard his music before. I sure would love to see him. :winkin:

When it comes to the genre of a one-man band, it doesn't get any better than the UK's Ray Stubbs & His Amazing One-Man Blues Band.  I swear he's a virtual schizoprhrenic, playing 3 tuned instruments at once (harmonica, guitar/slide guitar and organ bass pedals) plus percussion.  Ray is no novelty act, but just uses the instruments he needs to get the sound he wants - one minute he sounds like the Memphis Jug Band, the next like the Muddy Waters Band.  If necessary, he will play only one instrument, e.g. on the harmonica solo "Frisco Leaving Birmingham".
