Title: Ordering A Breedlove In Winter!!
Post by: l31itz on October 09, 2003, 04:45:55 PM
I really want to order a Breedlove SC20 custom from the factory. However, it won't be complete for 2-3 months. Now given today's date, it won't be ready until the dead of winter. Should I just wait until Spring to have them build it? Or at least strategically place the order so that it will be completed in Spring?

l31itz...Don't worry about it,when the guitar gets to you don't open it wait until spring :P.

Only kidding,Let the box come to room temp then open it for about 1/2 an hour.Pull it out of the box feel the case if it's still cold wait until it warms up.Pull guitar from case tune up and play

OK, sounds good. But what about temperature changes from shipping.

ie. packing (inside)  shipping (outside) delivery (inside)

80 deg      30 deg     80 deg

What Rob was, I think, getting at is that the change in temp. will be gradual both after packing & unpacking - if you are sure on your end to give the guitar a chance to acclimate while still in the case & box. Did the same thing and asked the same questions about my L03R ordered earlier this year. If you want to be totally conservative regarding this, I'd say waiting until the beginning of Jan. ought to get the guitar to you by approx. March - a bit warmer perhaps.

Either way, you're a lucky dog  <_<  !

I see. Yeah, it was Dave that I talked to. He gave me a great price and now it's just a matter of, do I order now and risk the Christmas shipping issues. Or wait until mid November to place the order so that the ship date will be in January.
