Title: Walrus ivory saddle on OM-03R
Post by: Winnipeg on October 08, 2007, 08:04:32 PM
I just installed a fossilized walrus ivory saddle from Bob Colosi on my OM-03R. It was not that expensive, and was a piece of cake to put in with great instructions from Bob. Took about 1 hour of careful sanding to match the old saddle template. I already had a bone saddle on the guitar to replace the original Tusq saddle that came from the factory. There had been a substantial difference between the bone and the Tusq, but I did not think there would be a difference between the bone and the ivory. I was wrong!! Even better tone and more sustain. Apparently ivory is ~40% harder than bone and therefore makes the strings ring out even more.

Great enhancement to a great guitar!
