I see that other manfactures (1 in particullar) have a reasonable expectation that the wii need a neck reset at one or more times in the life of the guitar. After following this forum for some time I don't believe I have heard of one Larrivee that needed a neck reset (except maybe if it had a fault right out of the box).
Can anyone tell me why lLarravee's don't seem to need neck resets?

Here's a wild -CENSORED- guess.....
Larrivee guitars haven't been around long enough. Years from now when your L-09 is 70 years old and the stress of string tension has finally pulled the neck enough, it may require a reset. Like I said, just a WAG.
My 1975 L09 has had a neck reset. It wasn't that bad but since they had the neck off anyway ...
Jean used to say that he could count the number of his guitars that needed a reset on the fingers of one hand. The problem with making a hundred thousand guitars? You need more fingers. Still the Larrivée dovetail is a fantastic piece of work.

They are built more sturdy than most high end guitars. My SC has bellied some below the bridge and I'm sure it will need a reset long before the OM-03MT which has no belly. The need for resets isn't usually caused by movement in the neck joint, but rather by the bridge tilting forward and the neck block rolling forward. I guess it would be possible to build a guitar that would go a couple hundred years with no reset but it probably wouldn't sound good.
This is all very debatable but with CNC and a lot of expertise it is possible to make consistently better dove tailed joints than ever before. Along with the symetrical x bracing the Larrivée design is intended to be very solid without being overbuilt.
I own 2 Gibson L7's which are archtop guitars that they are both over 50 years old and they don't need neck sets.Its called craftmanship and having pride in your work.
