The slowest musical composition in the world is As Slow as Possible (ASLSP) by American avant-garde composer John Cage.

The 639-Year Performance
The Rule: John Cage wrote the score in 1987 with the simple instruction to play it "as slow as possible".
The Location: A continuous performance is currently underway on a specially built, automated organ at the St. Burchardi church in Halberstadt, Germany.
The Timeline: The performance began on July 5, 2001, and is scheduled to end 639 years later on September 5, 2640.
Note Changes: Individual chords or notes are held for months or even years at a time before the mechanical organ shifts to the next sound.

I do this constantly.  Even when I am playing alone, which is most of the time. The hardest thing for me to do is relax when I play.  I think it was always the case but I only started noticing it in recent years.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Everyone speeds up. It's a natural inclination, especially when the music moves us. I try to practice more with my metronome, even though it's not as fun.

As for ASAP, all I have to say is: it's about time!
