There's been a lot of conversation on playing the blues here on the forum recently.
So I thought this was a good time and place to drop this one.
(OK to call it 'gospel' too, I guess; isn't it?)

Fantastic! He's one of the masters of slide guitar.

Excellent post! Soulful and beautiful. I dig most everything they do together. I even thought their simplified Tiny Desk performance was great. As for Derek, yeah, he's one of my generations best, IMO. The right touch, the right notes, the right feel.*

I hear you, but to me, it's all blues. I'm probably wrong, though. I call a lot of what I play blues, but technically it's probably more like "fusion," with so many styles mashed together. If it's got soul, I'm in! "Blues" is just a nice shorthand.

*For an interesting watch, check out Derek and John Mayer playing with BB sometime shortly before the latters death. Maybe his b-day celebration. BB was highly impressed with Derek's playing. Speaking to his wife, Susan: "I see why you married him."  :donut  :donut

I love Susan Tedeschi's voice.
At once, both gritty and sweet.
She used to come around and tour solo years ago before she hooked up with Derek.
She has handed off most of the guitar slinging to her husband these days, but she knows her way around the fretboard.

I do as well. They make a heck of a duo.

I've never taken the time to do a deep dive on their music. Any albums that you would recommend to listen to first?
