Quote from: BlueBowman on December 28, 2025, 09:42:52 AMWe had a good Christmas. Everyone seemed to have a great time and enjoyed their gifts. That was the "immediate" family Christmas. The next day was the "extended" family Christmas. It was...less fun.
Exactly the same in my shoes.  At home was great but the extended fam gathering was, and always is, less fun.  The same folks show up pouting and bent on nursing their years-long bitterness and resentment.  I tried with a couple of them but they were determined to keeping looking at the clock and waiting till it was time to go home.

Just had a chance to check in to the forum.  My wife was experiencing fatigue and was undergoing tests for low red, white cells and low platelets.  Ended up taking her into the hospital on Dec 15. I slept in her room on a pullout chair while she underwent tests.   Without going into details, she was diagnosed with DLBCL.  If you know, you know.  Had first treatment in the hospital, released at noon on Christmas Eve. We had tears of joy and thanks.  One of the first things I did was light a fire and played my JCL 40th.  All the finger style Christmas songs I know came right out like magic. Got to celebrate with all our 5 kids and 6 grands.
Happy New Year all.
