Good evening. I'm new to this forum and I have been a Larrivee fan since I saw Bruce Cockburn using one in concert and blowing our minds with Water Into Wine!
I eventually got an L-05 about 20 years ago.  It sounded amazing and actually is still getting better.
My question is about a friends 20 year old D-03 which was made in Vancouver.
She wants to sell it and recalls paying around $1600 for it then (brand new).   I see this model selling for $2900 Can now.
What would be a reasonable price for this guitar.  It's barely been played and was recently set up.  It's like new, structurally.
It's very hard for me to find used prices that are consistent (i've looked at Reverb and Ebay).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can help with Canadian pricing but you can) up "completed listings" on ebay and see what things actually sold for. Also, don't just look up D03 but every Larrivee 03 as the prices don't deviate much from different body sizes, aside from parlor.
Reverb's price look up is pretty bad. The only ways to make it work are to try to create a listing and use the reference they give you, or just use a search engine and type "Larrivee D03 Reverb" and see what sold listings come up.

Prices are weird right now as they hit a historical high during the pandemic and are all over the place now. I'd generally expect between $1k and $1,400 USD. But, I've seen some as low as $800. It's a buyer's market so the quality of the listing has a strong influence on how much you'll get.

Welcome to the forum.  Since you're new, it is fitting and in order to let you know that it's been long-established right here that the D-03 is the best guitar in the world. Here is some good reading:

Haha!  This is a great group of guitar freaks I can tell!  Thanks so much for the help.  I didn't know of the "completed listings" idea.

Beware of looking at used Larrivee guitars online, you will be tempted to buy more!!!  :nana_guitar
Larrivee P-03
Larrivee 00-40R

I have to say, I love all my guitars but that D-03R seems to be the one I grab the most. It has to be that bracing system. I am tempted to get a D-03.
Larrivee D-40R
Larrivee SD-40R
Larrivee D-40
Larrivee D-03R
Martin   DSS-17 New

With all the *humo(u)r*, I missed mentioning my thought on the OP's price, I'd figure from what I've glanced at pricing wise, maybe around $800 Can.

I'm also noticing others typing a *D* instead of an L, I should get into keyboard repair services, seems lots out of whack.  :humour:
Herman.
