Tuners on a ooo-40r

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has changed out the tuners on any of the 40 series guitars.  I'm not very happy with the stock ones as these seem to really vary in accuracy.  I'm looking at Gotoh sxb 510's. Any input?

I changed the tuners on my slothead Taylor 312 and it was a drop in replacement with no surprises. That era had some really awful tuners that had quite a bit of lag. I can't imagine a tuner swap would be any different on your Larrivee.

If it's under warranty I'd check into that first, but I wouldn't hesitate to replace them. The process is entirely reversible if you don't like how it turns out.

One thing I wish I did during my swap was to find a way to lube the headstock hole that the tuner post fits into. While it tunes accuractly I do get more "creaks" and "pops" than I'd like when tuning but that's the nature of metal on wood, I suppose.

Being that it's a 40 series, they're geared tuners, right? Not 3 on side? I can't help with that but I thought I'd ask as I've changed them on 50/60 series.

Yes, they are geared tuner 3 per side.
