Larrivee hardshell case

I have a D-60 that came with a Martin hardshell case. It doesn't allow me to leave the Larrivee leather strap on. It's a bit of a nuisance to take the strap off to store the guitar, then put the strap on when I take the guitar out to play. I was wondering if anyone uses a Larrivee hardshell and if they can leave the leather strap on during storage (in other words, is the Larrivee case a little larger to accommodate the strap?).

I have never had a problem putting a Larrivee guitar with a strap attached into a Larrivee case. The straps end up folded onto the top of the guitar. Flat top and arch top cases.

Could be the Martin case is a bit too tight for the Larrivee dred dimensions. By any chance is the binding coming off the case as well?  :humour:

Bit naughty about the binding, but true.

Mike, thanks for the info. You provided a useful answer. FYI, when I contacted Larrivee, they suggested I post in the forum since they had no useful answer. Cases are made by a variety of contractors. Furthermore, the D-60 fits nice and safely in the Martin case as long as the strap is not attached, and like you folks, I treat this instrument with great care. Again, thanks. I'll be contacting Larrivee for a new case, I expect.

As a matter of style, spend a few extra dollars and get the archtop case, as that is what the D-60 is supplied with.

I have ordered archtop cases for three of my Larrivee acoustics at time of purchase and the most recent for my 00-24 was a $70 increase in price over the flat hardshell case. They are the nicest cases I own. The Larrivee case for my Baker T Pro electric was made in Canada and it is also a perfect fit. I also upgraded my parlor from a gig bag to a flat Larrivee hardshell case when I bought it in 2004.

FWIW, my D-35 still sleeps in its original blue "steal me" Martin case. About 5 years ago, I bought a used Alvarez Artist dread that fits into the Martin case perfectly. I also bought a padded Yamaha gig bag to store the Alvarez in and the Martin fits in it too. When they aren't being played, all of my guitars are kept in the case in my humidified guitar room at 50 to 55% Relative humidity and 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The only exception is a 1930s era Oahu square neck Hawaiian guitar kept on a wall hanger that my wife found in an antique store for $20. It's more of a wall decoration than serious guitar but it rarely goes out of tune.

On a side note, I do not store any of my guitars with a strap attached inside the case and the only Larrivee I have with a pick guard is my LV03 12 string.

I have a larrivee archtop case for my 00 as well, and it's really a nice case for it.

I also never store my guitars in cases with straps attached, mostly because there's not enough room in the case for me to stand up.  :humour:
