Nice appointments on that guitar. In previous posts, I've stated that no one consistently does a satin finish or Venetian cutaway as well as Larrivee. Nice touch adding the Anthem no cut pickup too. I added one to my Forum VI and have one coming on my 00-24 series model.

Hi ,well I've had this new guitar about 4 weeks now  ,I just got it back yesterday from a Tech for a setup. It sound s terrible, and the action is still too high for me.I don't get it. It is buzzing but the action is too high??? why? Maybe I will try heavier strings. It just sounds .... fuzzy like. Very disappointed for now . I wish I knew how to do set ups!! myself! Frustrated!!

Maybe you put the strings wrongly and it buzzes from there?

This story seems odd. I would interested to know if you played this guitar in front of the tech after the setup and if he/she had any comments.

The last time I had a setup done on my D35 from an authorized Martin Repair shop two hours away from my house, we both played it before I paid him. This 48 year old guitar sounds and plays better than ever.

Relief in the neck can cause a guitar to have both buzzing and high action at the same time. Keep in mind, not all techs are competent. In fact, in the guitar world, there's a shocking number of poor techs. I don't want to accuse your tech of anything but handing a guitar back with these issues is very suspect.

There's no good reason this guitar shouldn't be playing like a million bucks.  I'd seek out another tech.

And off to another guitar tech .... This guitar is not to my liking at all ;at this point I am very disappointed in how it sounds and plays. Probably going thru a phase ,but it is agravating!!

Have you considered contacting Larrivee and talking this over?  Maybe they could help you track down what's causing the issues, etc?

Being that set-ups are not really what they do, I imagine they'd direct him to a tech.

yeah ,I was gonna call Larrivee ,but what are they going to do? I'm 3,000 miles away. I don't think they would really care. I 'll go to another Tech. I 'm all thumbs at setups. Maybe try some different strings too.

They care, they just aren't set up in a way to take guitars in for set ups. A person who does that all day is often more qualified. And, just shipping alone will be around $300 round trip.

 I'd take it to someone, explain that a tech made it worse than when you got it, what you're looking for, and ask them what they can do. If they just want to put it in the back and call you later, go elsewhere. If they give it a quick look over and have an idea what went wrong, leave it with them. That's your new tech.

 If you get stumped, I can give you some things to measure/inspect. I have an idea what might be going on but it would be ideal for you to find someone who can set it up right.

Absolutely.  But it just seems like he's generally unhappy with the guitar. Maybe they have some options or avenues to get it solved when something like this happens.  Not sure.  Either way, I hope it all works out.

Yes ;unhappy with it . I waited a year for this guitar and now ; buyers remorse, maybe it will resolve itself with another setup and time...
