To the admins...this is my first post and I just wanted to clarify a couple points on the Forum rules before I proceed, to wit:
*I note that you do not allow links to Ebay in the 'For Sale' forum; do you have any similar objection to a seller linking to Reverb.com when the item(s) are listed there?
*I also note that you do not allow posts that include prices from music stores; is there any objection to a PSA-type post,eg., "Bob's Music has a sale on Larrivees." or words to that effect?

Thanks...just wanted to be sure I'm not running afoul of any forum rules.

Basically, the rule is that there must be a price. Auctions are not a set price. It seems that if you have a fixed price listing it's permitted. The rule is from many years ago when auctions were still a popular method of sale. It's less relevant now as set prices are standard.

New Larrivee prices are not discussed as not to favor any particular dealer. This site is linked by the official Larrivee site so I understand they don't want there to be a perception of bias. People do post PSAs for special (and sometimes not so special) used Larrivees on here. But, I don't think they would be particularly helpful on new instruments as they are rarely going to be smoking deals. There's one dealer that sells B-stock (they refer to them under a different term) and I've seen them linked without specific prices being discussed. But, I wouldn't recommend linking to dealers just for the sake of promoting that dealer (free advertising), sale or not.

I am not a mod or admin, so if they say anything different go by their word. I'm just giving my impressions so you'll have a quick answer.

Welcome MaxRange, and thanks for your question.
And thanks to you, BOWIE.
Your post above is a clear and concise explanation of the rules regarding pricing and the reasoning behind them.
