Hello
I was thinking of selling my 1978 L 10.  A guitar shop in the Pacific Northwest has offered me $1560.00.   They said they would perform a fret job they valued at $400 and offer the guitar for sale in their showroom at $3000.
The guitar is in good condition and comes with a hard shell case.  There is no electric pickup.
I think the offer is reasonable and avoids the complexity and uncertainty of selling online through Reverb.
Apparently this is a somewhat rare guitar.  Serial 10 0133.
I am inexperienced at selling or shipping guitars.  I'm thinking of selling for the offer price.  Any opinions on the actual value of my guitar?
Thanks in advance
Steve

For those who don't want to sell an instrument themselves, you're going to leave a few hundred on the table. You seem to be ok with that so it's not a terrible offer. Hard to say what it's worth without seeing it but I'd speculate you're losing about 25% potential profit.

The deal would make more sense and be justifiable if you could find something there that you are willing to trade it in on, then you'll realize the tax savings since you only pay tax on the difference and maybe if they are keen to your trade in they can massage the price on a new instrument to make the deal a little sweeter.

If you just want to sell it, I would try reverb and kijiji.  There are lots of Larrivee fans out there that would find it for sale eventually.  I've always been able to get fair and reasonable money for used gear listing online and being a little patient.
