Might be a fun thread.  Post a seriously obscure acoustic song that you think others might enjoy.  I'll start with one I've liked for years that I'm pretty sure no one here has heard.

Le Derviche Tourneur - Marcel Dadi.  Hang around for the end. See if you can keep up.

Very cool, and it certainly qualifies as obscure.  I'd never heard of this player till this week when you posted about him.  Lots of good stuff on the YouTube sidebar featuring him as well.  I went down a few rabbit holes.  He must've been endorsed by Taylor at some point?  There are some videos of him demonstrating various Taylors back in the 90s.  Man, I loved Taylors back then.  I still like them but back then they were really great, and to this day when you find a good Taylor there is nothing else quite like it.  Thanks for passing along the cool tune.

Here is an obscure player that I've enjoyed for a while now, Erwin Van Ligten.  He's got some really good albums and his style is pretty different than most.  Here he is demoing a nice K. Yairi for the Fellowship of Acoustics.  This guitar probably needed CPR when he was done with it.

Yes, he's criminally underrated or even unnoticed. Probably because he's French. I never saw him with a Taylor. Almost always an Ovation or that odd looking electric that you see on the cover of Legend. I learned Derviche Tourneur from the tab included with the album. It's a fun tune and a great exercise. It's almost as difficult to play extremely slow as incredibly fast. He goes two or three rounds past where I lose him to ... as fast as it's possible to play a guitar. I wonder if his albums still come with tab. Good investment if they do.

He's shown up on Youtube for me a few times. Great player.

Not sure how obscure this is. Early 70's John McLaughlin after Miles Davis and Bitches Brew and before he became Mahavishnu or teamed up with Paco De Lucia and Larry Coryell. Mingus's Goodbye Pork Pie Hat. Always thought this was terrific. Another Ovation player.

Impressive playing!  I've heard of this player over the years but never any of his music.

That's from his acoustic album "My Goals Beyond". It's well worth a listen. Besides being Mile's Davis's guitarist on Bitches Brew, he's mostly known for his electric work with The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Jazz fusion, I'd guess you'd call it. He does Indian raga style music with his band Shakti. It's pretty interesting. He's also in the trio of Paco De Lucia, Larry Coryell and him. Hot sh*t, that stuff! He's been around a long time.

I saw John McLaughlin in concert several years ago playing electric, which is, as you say, mostly what he does.
I have tickets for later this year as he's reuniting with Shaki musicians for 50th Anniversary tour promoting the new album "THIS MOMENT".

Unfortunately, no where near me. I'd love to see him with any of those players.
