If I may ask, what brand of baritone is it?
Mike
OK, I'm totally busted, Mike. At some point, I evidently decided that I had to have another guitar; something or other. I can't even recall any more. So I sold the BT-03.
Shortly thereafter I regretted that decision, and determined to have the baritone again.
Sadly, Larrivee stopped production of baritones by that point.
I shopped around but couldn't find what I wanted.
You know, there's not a lot of baritones to choose from out there.

I knew that I didn't want Taylor's 8-string production model.
Then in early 2014, Taylor produced a limited run of 6-string 14-fret baritones. 320e SLTD (Spring Limited).
That's what I recorded Eleanor Rigby on.

Nice Mark. I have a recording with my baritone. I'll see if I'm techie enough to figure out how to post it.
Thanks, Duck. Yeah, recording is always my biggest obstacle, too. Never learned what I should have learned long ago. (Now, there's an old refrain. Sing it again. Second verse, same as the first.)
Listening to Old Montreal Blues, now. Good song, as usual. The melancholy tone and lyrics puts me in mind of Tom Waits.  :thumb

Good line and very apt. I may try it on for size. The song was recorded quickly on a little Roland Edirol. If I sounded a tenth a good as TW, I'd die happy but thanks!  :cheers

What didn't you like about the Taylor 8 string?

I thought that it wasn't right for me and the way I play, specifically: fingerpicking.
I struggle trying to fingerpick a course of strings. Sure, I know, Leo Kottke doesn't seem to have any trouble with this on his 12-string guitar.
It turns out, he's better than I am.  :bgrin:

Denis,
I apologize for the late reply.
These are excellent recordings.
Squish is like listening to the pipe organ in a cathedral.

Thanks Mike.  The guitar was pretty cool but like 12 strings, I lost interest after a little while.  If I had more room and more $, I'd still have it I'm sure.  Right now I'm waiting on a custom D40.  Having one made with a 1 3/4" nut

I can appreciate that. I only tried one for about 20 minutes at Gruhn. Using a pick. I found the extra flavor on just a couple of strings really interesting. It might just have turned out to be a novelty, but I really enjoyed it way more than I expected.l

I love Larrivee but a Larrivee baritone would be a lot of money for a guitar I only play occasionally.

I figure I play:
85% 6-string
10% 12%
5% Baritone.

I picked up one of the Alvarez Artist series baritones a couple years ago on the Musician's Friend Stupid Deal of the Day.  I like it a lot, but I only use it for a few songs.

Like all Artist series, the Baritone is solid top with laminate back/sides.  Guild makes a similar instrument now as well.
