As they say, "A picture is worth a 1,000 words" and Scott's smile says it all.

Thanks to Mike for coordinating and keeping the Forum VI moving forward fro start to finish for all of us who participated. Also, a huge thanks to John Larrivee, his family and the entire team at Larrivee Guitars that created and completed the Forum VI in record time. Along the way, John posted plenty of photos to keep us informed, engaged and excited.

John promised us a 6-12 month delivery time in the initial email and started shipping guitar less than 6 months after they started production. The decision to use moonwood spruce and walnut and giving us the option of adding a Venetian cutaway and a choice of pickups sealed the deal for me and gave each of us who came along for the ride a unique guitar. I could not be more pleased with the final result.

John, if you're reading this:
The FVI is my third Larrivee and also my third custom guitar. I may have one more custom left in my future and based on my LV03 12 string and my 000 12 fret, I am leaning toward a 00 12 fret, short scale with slotted headstock and all mahogany.

I would go for that! 12 fret 00 with a slotted headstock all hog and maybe some 40-style scalloped bracing? Forum VII

I have enough guitars.  No Forum VII for me.

I heard that the proper amount of guitars is "just one more".   :humour:

We know there were some problems, things not as expected, and I am thankful we rolled with it, and people shared their concerns via PM while the guitars were being delivered.

At this point, I think anyone can now openly discuss issues and lessons learned.

Nicely.

Well, mine is very nice - the woods, the build. BUT, in discussion with John, I may be getting a rebuild (still waiting to hear back final confirmation; I know he's been busy.)

My lefty was made with the dots on the wrong side of the neck - oops. So then John offered me (1) to add the dots to the other side of the neck (and leave them on the wrong side), and (2) to add a pickup install as compensation (although I didn't really want an under saddle piezo - to my ears they DO impact the tone in negative ways; I've pulled them from other guitars, including my OM-05 recently.)

I did agree to take it, and I tried to be happy with it - but a custom guitar at this price really should be made to the proper specs, and someone messed up on this one.

So the negotiations began, but I'm still waiting. I'm keeping the guitar hydrated and not playing it too much, since it will need to go back.

In case anyone has a friend drooling over your Forum VI, Guzzijeff has his for sale due to shoulder issues. I'd buy it in a heartbeat except, well, I already have one! Somebody in going to get a very, very special guitar.

Hey Riverbend. Thanks for the shout out about my Forum VI being up for sale. I love the sound and drool over it's beauty, but I can't get my shoulder to cooperate! I'm jealous of all of you getting to bond with yours. Enjoy!

Jeff,

I responded to your For Sale post and it got deleted. I forgot about that rule. No donuts for me!  :roll

I just wanted to say, sorry that your shoulder is giving you so much grief. My right shoulder has been bothering me due to a pinched nerve in my neck, but only when I sit at my computer and use the mouse for a while. When it starts to act up, I put the mouse down and pickup a guitar and the discomfort subsides. I look forward to giving up the mouse. The guitar, not so much.

Anyway, you should consider listing your Fourm VI on the Larrivee FaceBook page. There are a lot more potential buyers and you can avoid any Reverb fees.

Thank you, Mark. Yeah, I'd gladly give up the mouse for the guitar! I've never checked out the Larrivee Facebook page. I'll give a look.

Sorry for the delay, here are the family photos

Clint,

You have three fine looking Larrivees there. Best wishes for many great years of playing.

You and I were in a dead heat being the last two members to receive our FVI guitars.  I have a photo of my three Larrivees including my Special Edition flamed maple parlor, custom LV03 12 string with mahogany top and FVI with cutaway and pickup. I just have to figure out how to post it.

Mine plays like a dream too.

Thank you all.

I love the guitar, its my favorite to play, even over my OM.

And also thanks for the bookcase love, they were my great grandads

Teh,
Thats what took me so long, Apple Phone and macs made it harder for me to figure out to make the pics friendly for the forum

Hey all of you Forum VI-ers! You've got a new member of the gang. I just (reluctantly) sold my Forum VI to another Larrivee Forum member. I loved participating in the Forum VI build... from the idea stage,... through the build,... through the wait!... and then the excited posts and pictures! I just wish my shoulder cooperated! Hopefully, he will post pics! (I couldn't figure out how to reduce the size of the pic file...) Enjoy your guitars! I am still enjoying my Larrivee 00-40FW.

Great news on your sale, be sure to update your post in the For Sale Section.

Re reducing the size of your pictures - most all computers have the program Paint:
Open the application, then Open the Image.
From the Home Tab, select the Resize and Skew Icon (note the original pixel size shown near the bottom).
Make sure there is a check mark in the box next to "Maintain aspect ratio"; then set the width and click OK.
(just google resizing pictures with Paint)
Larrivee Electrics - My Dream then and Now!!!!!<br /><br />Forum IV     00-03MT       #4      (Treasured)

Looks great! Glad it made it to you safely, enjoy!
