I recalled an answer from Matt in the FB page and on or just after Dec 3, this year, he wrote (in reference to an older -03):

That particular logo is inlaid into the headstock. The material used is white Vulcanized Fiber. The pieces of the inlay were laser cut. They are about 1.5mm thick. The cavity for the inlay is cut by CNC machine using micro endmills.
We no longer use this material. It has been superseded by a synthetic mother of pearl, which is entirely cut by endmill.

I also sent off an inquiry to John, before I remembered the above post. I wanted to say ours was MOP, didn't know exactly, but am glad John showed the milling.
Pretty sure the VI and dots are that same material on the -03 series and ours.
Mike

From John, the material is...... (this seems to be what Matt said).....
Pearloid. Synthetic pearl.

Several years ago I had a custom L-09 built and requested no fretboard inlays be installed. I was informed that a tiny hole would still need to be drilled at the 15th fret but would be filled later. It had something to do with their neck jigs I think, perhaps a kind of registration pin. Normally, I was told, the pin hole would be covered with an inlay. But because I was requesting a blank fretboard, I might see traces of the hole.

At the proper angle, in the proper light, I can barely detect it. It's no big deal.
James, thanks for this. We are learning a lot in a short time.

Waiting for some James Brown action here. As in: Take it to the bridge!  :bgrin:

Classy looking guitars.  The *VI* on the twelfth fret looks great as well.

I *think* I see my guitar.    :nice guitar:

And there it is: The bridge.

It seems it's down to:
1. Nut
2. Finish coat
3. Tuners/set up

They look stunning!

This has been such a great ride! I think i hear a voice from the 'way back' of the station wagon, "Are we there yet?".

Looking sooooo good   :thumbsup

Perhaps a strange question - will these be considered a 2021 or 2022 build?  Most of the work is done during '21 but it seems that the finish will be in '22 so what determines the the 'build date'?

I think I know the answer so just curious.

I believe they will be 2021 builds.  Pretty sure they date them based on when the serial numbers are put on the neck block.

We are lucky in that we are working with Larrivee directly with the F-VI and we have info a retail purchaser would not see.
We know when our last order was (early July) and when the orders were being entered (3rd week July).
We saw our neck blocks on Oct 16 so we know production activity had started on the F-VI.
We have seen all the photos so we can see progress.
As far as the "build" goes, John said the date we see nowadays on the Larrivee site serial number look up is date of "completion", and also said in the "old days" that date was when the guitar was "started". Those dates are the ones a retail customer would see. That makes sense cause I got two new guitars (end of 2019 and early 2020) within 3 weeks of the date on the serial number lookup. I had to ask for the dates to be entered cause it wasn't online yet.
When our F-VI's get shipped, I am going to ask John that our SNs be entered in the online website lookup right away, since the info is contained in the Larrivee internal data base, but entered on the website later.
In the end, whatever date we see, I agree with Denis and we can consider the F-VI a 2021 build.

Dated when the neck and neck block are mated, I believe.  Or they used to do it that way.
