I've got a D-40R shipping to me in the next couple of weeks. I'm curious if anyone here has pickups installed on a dread that you're happy with. I'm thinking about something with a mic blend. I want the most natural tone I can get.  I don't play live just at home throught headphones or a Marshall AS50D amp.

Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It doesn't include a mic, but on more than one K&K install, I've been convinced the install went bad until turning the amp off and it not being as loud.  For recording, I'd want a mic in the room or close to the guitar but for amplified playing in a small room where the guitar itself influences the listening, a K&K is my choice.  Besides the natural sound, there are other things I like...  no excess "stuff" in the guitar, no batteries in the guitar (to come loose or have to change), no perceptible change to the unplugged guitar.

You've probably already looked into it, but the LR Baggs M-series might suit your needs. I'm not sure of the differences between all the variations. There's the M1, M1A, M80, and several more.
