 Hi Folks,

I making this unfortunate post on behalf of a long time friend, Harold Henkel. Well known in the LA area for his studio work on many albums we all know and listen to . Needing a ride from San Francisco to the NAMM show in Anaheim, he went through Craigslist ride share. While at a gas station in Grants Pass on i5 at 4:30pm, the driver of the vehicle took off with three guitars and all Harold's personal luggage. The Larrivée was a 1982 L-78 (C-72 by today's system). Serial number is 78 1988. The inlaly was the vintage Mucha Lady. The guitar was well played and loved. If you see or hear anything, please contact us. Everyone would like to see a pleasant ending. Harold has a $1000 reward for it's return.

Many Thanks
john jr.

That's horrible. Can't Craigslist help ID the driver? The police should be able to get their records. What are the other guitars?

Far left is a PHRED and the middle is a Newman.

It's a bunch of mostly anonymous people offering, and asking for, rides. One example, "seeking female for car ride" is all that is posted. It's dangerous and you generally wouldn't do it with anything of value. Not trying to shame Harold at all, just hoping others will learn from his mistake.
I hope the instruments are recovered soon. I'll keep an eye out online.

Still there has to be a computer involved and an ISP, no?

With VPNs and disposable phones, it's possible to leave almost no trace and requires little to no technical knowledge to do these days. I've seen docs on murder investigations where they'll go to the extent of tracing the origin of purchase on the phone to look up surveillance footage of the purchaser, but law enforcement offices won't dedicate those resources to a theft like this.

We can only hope the person who did it was careless and is more easily trackable. If they're someone who planned this out though, chances are slim of catching them through Craigslist. Finding the instruments is more likely. Thankfully, they're pretty unique and easy to ID.

Shocking. shocking, shocking........just goes to show, you can't trust anyone, not even your driver. Geez, hope they find that dude and give him a good flogging.

Hope you're right. It's hard to believe someone would go through that much trouble to rob an unsuspecting person but I guess it's easy to take off when you get an opportunity rather than break in or point a weapon at someone.

California these days, they'll probably apologize on behalf of society and give him more money.

That's what us Canadians do...
Do you by chance know or sing the song by David Allen Cole called "My long hair don't cover up my redneck"?  :wave :cheers
"Senior" member means "old" right?
Like over 50?

Too many guitars to list here.
Too few brain cells to be bothered with...

Only if your name's Omar, apparently.

As for DAC, I know it well although I only sing it when it comes on my Sirius radio in the car. Outlaw Country plays it quite often.

As for the theft, I would have at least noted the car's plate number, make and model.
