I know Spotify (et al) can be a controversial topic, but I've really enjoyed it and found tons of music I would have never come across.  I thought it might be fun to post some odd music we've all stumbled upon there.

This one came up on my account last week and (once I located it on YouTube) I probably listened to it four or five times.  I have no idea what this woman is singing about, but the arrangement is so haunting and beautiful that I couldn't stop listening.

Spotify often makes suggestions that lead me to either entirely new artists, or to "covers" of music that I'd forgotten.

When some Ryuchi Sakamoto showed upon a "made for you" playlist, I went hunting and discovered this wonderful cover:

Merry Christmas

Found via a favorite folklore podcast:

Can't stop listening, though I have no idea what's being said.

Nice!

For me it might be more accurate to say that Spotify has reminded me of artists I'd forgotten (or lost their vinyl, or CD's), like:

Medieval Babes

Corvus Corax
