That you can break your ribs with just a coough....I didn't but was told today that that may be what I did.Were the rib attach's to the sterdom{OK I CAN'T SPELL,DEAL WITH IT}can..Big fun now the wait to find out.

I did know that although I've never experienced it. Good luck. I know people who have suffered broken ribs and it's no fun at all.

Yep, my wife is healing from that now, for two weeks. Fun growing old huh?

I broke 5 ribs in 11 different places this past July. Coughing and laughing and sneezing were fireworks shows of pain for awhile. Only symptoms left is I have a weird numbness that will zing across the skin on my shoulder blade now and then and now I have arthritis in the shoulder

The only time I've ever passed out was sneezing with broken ribs. The body's way of dealing with the pain explosion, I guess. Hope you heal up quickly!

OK I have never been a fan of doctors and I always tell them so but I've reached a point of "WTF"....I call the doctors office to see what the xray showed and was told that they show that the ribs are fine..I got this info after leaving 4 messages,the last one was not polite.They said they were going to call me but stuff got in the way...I hate doctors.With that now my wife is p***ed off and plans her attack.The worst part is if I sneeze,clear my throat,cough,blow my nose or do any other bodely function I cause myself pain and even worst its keeping me playing my guitar....causing me to go more insane then I need to.........

Getting off my soap box now so I can pour myself a triple. :wave

Just an update..it seems that I have pulled ligaments and muscle's on the right side of my lower ribs.as it will be 4 weeks this coming Thursday I have at least 2 weeks if not 4 weeks of this crap which has cut into my playing time to just my repair work and no more as my OM sits on top of my ribs and playing is no fun...Thanks for the well wish's. :wave :donut :donut :donut :donut

Update,my jacka** doctors can do  nothin for me and a doctor client of mine said in some case's it never heals.So I have learned to gravity p** so I don'r use any muscle untill the push,male units will know what I mean.I have missed 2 FOH gigs,good thing the duo is on a break for now.Though I will be going to the bands gig Sunday the boss wants me to learn how to run a digital board{I don't want to learn how}.Oh on top of all that since I have nerve damage I have a new effect,sometime's I get that feeling that there are worms moving around or anywhere from one to hundred bee stings or I itch like crazy.FUN STUFF!I try not to take pain med but I do get stupid after dark,I use to wait until every one is in bed but tonite I'm getting stupid early.

Rob, I never believe the doctors who say a thing won't heal.  I DO believe them when they say that there's nothing more they can do for me.  But the human body has an amazing capacity to heal, even without medical intervention.  So let's get you back from WTF to just plain bad.  Then we'll work from there.
