When I first acquired my om-03 I emailed the company to find the manufacture date... I'm always really interested in stuff like that. Eloisa Lopez emailed me back saying that my guitar was made one 2/24/2006. Today for kicks I entered the number into the date lookup tool on the Larrivee website a and it came back 12/25/2005. Not a huge difference time wise but still a different year. My guess is human error, maybe the last number was entered incorrectly when she looked it up. It's almost meaningless other than for my own entertainment but I just thought it was interesting and anyone who emailed the company for a date may want to see if it matches in the lookup

Start date and finish date.  No mystery here

Then by that logic, everyone who asked for a date by email before the lookup tool existed should have a different date than the lookup tool provides? That's what I'm interested in. I only ask because both the email and website have the specific phrase "manufacture date" not "start" or "finish date".

Just for kicks, I looked up my SD50 right now and the date on the website is a couple months before the date I was given via email 2 years ago.

That's interesting... I emailed them around 2014. Maybe Tuffy is right. But if that is the case then I think in selling scenario (not that I'm planning to sell mine) I would think you would have to list it with the date the site says just because that's what people have easier access to.

Now I wonder if one were to email the company now with the serial number which date they would come back with.

I too have received numerous dates that are different from the manufacture date look-up online.  I also sometimes would get two different models returned with the same serial number.  I just chose the model that corresponded with the one I was looking up.  If none of them were correct or no model found, I just sent in a query to Larrivee service, they always figured it out.  There were lots of issues with database errors and according to John Jr. many different dates during the build process were entered over the years.  Tuffy is correct, when they made the online lookup update they standardized the dating process...  I updated all of my records to coincide with the current manufacture lookup date you get back online.
