If he did the set-up himself I can understand it... BUT!!! Calling Dr. Rob, Calling Dr. Rob...

Most of the crummy sound is down to poor acoustics in his recording and using what might be a tiny electret condenser mic with an opening the size of a couple grains of salt in a camera.

He's a really good player. The second song intro is a favorite of mine. Story in your eyes,
but it is really a poor quality recording.

I'm surprised I didn't see a reaction this strong to my friend playing his guitar outside in the winter, and at the end of the video, his band mates are throwing snowballs at it.....

I won't use a Baggs Lyric for the very reason they can produce these types of unwanted sounds in your recordings.  If the high E and B nut slots are too low, the strings resonate against the frets too, which also sounds bad.  I did not get the impression his rattling the strings was intentional, just that he was unaware of how bad the recording sounded.  At least the stuff he was playing had great intention, I wish I knew how to play some of those...

Hmmm... looks like a well-worn L-02 or L-03... I don't have a problem with it...his tone sounds fine (can't say I can hear the nylon string in that video...  :rolleye: )
