Hi there! :wave
I'm new to the forum and new to Larrivée guitars.
After selling my Art&Lutherie dreadnought I was looking for a new guitar with a neat look and a distinctive sound. Being a lefty, I was very pleased reading that Larrivée does build every guitar as a left handed model at no extra charge.
:thumbsup
Consequently I ordered a beautiful om-03r which should arrive in a couple of weeks. I guess the small body design will go perfectly with my old Lakewood dreadnought.

Welcome, Tom.
Exciting time waiting for a new guitar to arrive.
I have a Larrivee OM too. It gets a lot of play time around here and it's the one I usually perform with.
One of the tunes I love to play on it is Black Orpheus.

:welcome: Tom

I too luv the OM's - looking forward to pics and hearing what you think of her. :nice guitar:

Dont forget to give Our Forum Rules a quick read, only takes a few minutes. :gotdonuts:
Larrivee Electrics - My Dream then and Now!!!!!

Forum IV 00-03MT #4 (Treasured)

Thanks for the warm welcome :D. Black Orpheus is a great song to listen to but I never tried to play it for myself.
I read the rules, but didn't get nr. 9. I'm sorry, but what am I supposed to do? Take a picture of a donut and post it here? I never had a donut in my whole live.
Cheers

By including the donut, you met the criteria. :laughin: Don't worry, it took me a while to figure it out also.

Welcome from a Canadian member.

Became a Shooting Star when I got my 1st guitar.
Back in '66, I was 13 and that was my fix.
Still shooting for stardom after all this time.
If I never make it, I'll still be fine.

Lol, alright.^^ :cheers
Can't wait for my Larrivée to play for the first time...

I have a Lakewood D-1 that's been cased up for a few years now. I think I'll put some new strings on it and put it out on a stand.
You will enjoy the OM I'm sure. :donut

When was your Lakewood build? Mine's from 1989. Lakewood has become the biggest steelstring guitar maker in Germany as far as i know. Very beautiful instruments.

I don't really know for sure. About the same time though probably. A friend left this guitar with me to "care for" after I fixed up another guitar of his. That was three or four years ago and he has never asked for it back.
But he has been in advanced degree studies all over the country, so he's been a bit occupied.

Welcome! It's a good bunch around here with a lot of knowledge. It sounds like you got yourself a nice guitar. :gotpics: <----We love pics, you know. Post when you can!

I have not yet been to Germany, but plan to go in the next few years. Octoberfest perhaps... :cheers

Thank you :). I already had some kind chats here.

Pics of my Larrivée will follow as soon as it has arrived and I also will add some pics of my Lakewood then.

Let me know when you come to Germany, it would be a pleasure to show you some real Bavarian (beer-) culture :D. Octoberfest is just for tourists and people who like to pay exorbitant prices for overcrowded beertents, unfriendly waitresses, boozy rowdies and stinky toilets...

Just saying that, if you want to get in touch with bavarian culture, Octoberfest is definitely not the place to go.

When we were in high school we would sneak through the wet creek bed and jump the fence to get into Octoberfest
at a place called Alpine Village in California. All was good until the police would follow the muddy foot prints and catch us drinking beer. Some of the best fun ever. :cheers
And yes I have developed a guitar habit for Larrivee OM guitars
Larrivee OM-40M Legacy
Larrivee OM-3R JCL
Larrivee P-01
Alverez AP66SB

Here's a qick update:
They just let me know that the customs authority stopped the cargo with my guitar. As a result, I will have to wait at least one more month for it to arrive. :crying:
Cheers
Tom
