Over the years I've had many great guitars.  However, I always seem to want something new and different no matter how great the current guitars is.  The two greats just happen to be Larrivee 19 models, but brand is not the point of this post.  Since I can't own 30 guitar because of money, space, and a beautiful wife I'd like to keep.  What does everyone think on the topic of trading away our extra special guitars in search of that next extra special guitar?

30 guitars makes you a very fortunate man, so that beautiful wife must be VERY understanding...unless she is collecting JEWELRY or Mercedes every time you get a git???

I wouldn't sell or trade my favorite guitar(s) in hopes of something better.  If you're still in love with the instrument I think it would be hard to even consider doing that...

I don't think people generally sell instruments they're in love with. I think a lot of it comes down to human frailty and fickleness! We fall out of love all too often when a hot, curvy little plucker wiggles its assets in our direction!     :arrow

...my guitar transactions have been only with members of this Forum, which gives me confidence that everything will be as represented - I have experienced no disappointments here.  Mama caught me sneaking a banjo in the back door recently and under pressure I had to tell her that I was going to sell one or two.  Now, how to decide which one it will be?   :crying:

Chas

Sorry to hear about your predicament, Charlie! How in the hell did you expect to hide a banjo?  I have to say that the Larrivee 40th Anniversary Reissue is one that will never be traded.  It comes out every day and my other Larrys are jealous...

Well, she was sharper than I thought!  I had a low-end Fender 5 stricg that I let a friends daughter have really cheap, and I got a Deering MB-6 (Maple Blossom 6-string - not cheap).  Wifey was watching me plink it and got to asking questions and bam, she had me!  I still wonder why I sold the JCL - but that was when I was falling inlove with Larri 12-fret models ala the F-III and then the F-IV, which for me are the two that I will never part with.
