L-03's in St. Louis?

Hello everyone,
I'm seriously considering selling/trading my OM-03 for an L-03 and had the genius thought to see if there are any forumites in St. Louis, MO with an L-03 they care to let me try out before I commit to this idea.

Hello, I live in St.Louis. I dont have an L-03 but there is a shop called Eddie's Guitars in Mapelwood that carrys Larrivee. There website says they have a few L-03 and a number of others. This is one of the higher end shops around STL. Might want to take drive down there to check them out. There website is http://eddiesguitars.com/

Thanks for the reply, Brad.  I've been to Eddies but unfortunately they are  the exact opposite of a hospitable environment to try out an instrument in - you ring a doorbell then get buzzed in and are asked why you didn't make an appointment (they have posted business hours), you have to ask to see a specific guitar (no browsing), sit down with only one of their approved picks and are handed the guitar while the salesman stands within personal comfort space with a paper towel ready to wipe the guitar as soon as you're done with the inspection.  I have to be desperate to go back there.  I honestly don't like to talk bad about a shop but I, and other friends who have been there to check out a guitar too many times with the same experience to ignore it. 
Sorry for the negative post guys.

Hi Chris, it's worth a try, but I think I'll skip Eddies, if what you say is so. Let me add that I don't blame them for protecting their interests. They've obviously been burnt before. Perhaps when I have cash in hand with serious intent to buy...

I agree that Eddies should protect their products but they've done so at the risk of turning away customers.

Wow, thats kinda sad to hear. I moved into the Mapelwood area a year or so back and kinda stumbled apone the shop while exploring the area. I peaked in the window but didnt actually go in because the door had a sighn saying "ring for service" and I wasnt actully going to buy anything so i kept going. But I went home and checked out there website. I guess they dont want you in there unless your sure to buy. That is pretty cold and I sure wouldnt run my shop that way. But it is all high dollar stuff in there and I can see them not wanting kids going in and out messing with there exspensive stuff. Plus STL seems to have a high rate of people that just dont give a crap about other peoples property along with a high crime rate. So who can blame them. But that can make for an uncomfortable buying expirence........

I didn't realize Eddies had gotten so bad.  But, they've always been a bit, how shall I say it, "elitist."  When asked what I was looking for I used to reply, "I'll know it when I see it."  That is until I heard one salesperson speak derisively about another customer who said exactly that after the guy left.  I had an issue with them once about returning and exchanging an item.  They finally accommodated me, but only after I spoke with the manufacturer.  I will say they really have some very nice boutique guitars and amps - probably the best selection in or anywhere near St. Louis.  That said, Bridgeton GC does have several Larrivees on display.  I'd definitely go there first.  I always deal with Brian.  He'll treat you right.

axeman, you're absolutely right - Eddies is certainly a very high end 'boutique' sort of place with an amazing selection.  I think the only reason they stay afloat is because there is a certain subset of customers who buy from them and like the 'idea' of that sort of shop.  It takes all sorts I guess! 
I have recently satisfied my L craving but will stop by that GC next time I'm in the area.  I appreciate the tip and will talk with Brian when I stop in.

Have you checked out Fazio's Frets and Friends? They're on Manchester. I don't think they carry Larry's but they gave a great selections of other brands.

Yeah, Fazio's is a great shop.  I used to stop by there but since they moved waaaay out (for me) a few years ago I have only been there once.

I get out to Fazios every once in a while.  They do indeed have a great selection of acoustics.  Also some offbeat electrics and  some nice vintage/upper end stuff.  They do not carry Larrivee but occationally get in a trade.  Music Folk in Webster Groves also has a nice selection of acoustics but, like Fazios, does not carry Larrivee.  They also get in trades once in a while.  Of my 4 Larrivees, all were bought used; one at Music Folk, two at Bridgeton GC and one at Crestwood GC.

why would they wipe it down with a paper towel? Paper towels will scratch the finish...I'd use a microfibre cloth...much more guitar friendly that paper towels.
