Are we at a stage where we should round up who's in/out and start doing votes on each of the parametres?

I was hoping Ted from LA Guitars would have a base starting point for Deposit and ballpark cost as well as turnaround time ( tho from my own experience on this  about 2 months). Once I get this kind of data I will PM everyone on this thread that has shown a remote interest to see if they want to start voting on options.

No sense to me anyway to have someone vote on an option that isn't interested in partaking in the launch

Suggestions to contrary - I am always open to ideas.

Hi guys,

Spoke to Corey today and lead time will be between 60 - 90 days depending on when we finalize the specs, and once we have an idea of the specs I willl get some pricing for you as well. A couple of things to keep in mind is that we need at least ten orders to make this happen, which shouldn't be a problem, and all the guitars will be identical.

I will check in here daily but feel free to email or call me the store with any questions.

A couple more stragglers:

1)  Will there be a sample of the proposed finish?  I'd like to use this to decide if gold hardware will work or not.  And again I just wanna make a point that the burst should be very subtle so that top comes out!

2)  When specs are finalized, how do the 'user-options' get declared for each guitar order?

Hi guys,

Spoke to Corey today and lead time will be between 60 - 90 days depending on when we finalize the specs, and once we have an idea of the specs I willl get some pricing for you as well. I appreciate this update, but the boldfaced comment above raises a question: we were told earlier that different pickup options would be allowed...there was also a hint that different bridges "might" be allowed. The bridge issue probably isn't as big a deal as the pickup options, as some folks want mini's in these, while others want full humbuckers or P-90's.

Does anyone have a clear answer on this?  Thanks ... not trying to stir the waters, just get clarification so we all know what we're committing to...

If this is not a misprint and is meant for any option, then it would also be news to JOYCEfromNS since she/he? sort of clarified this in the vote thread, at least from the point of view of what options Larrivee will allow.

3) What is the format of a mini humbucker?  I've been assuming it is like the JB mini or sth that fits in the size of a single coil PU.  Also, has anyone an idea of how it will sound or is this option kinda a Christmas morning sort of surprise?

No change any PUP config you want has been clearly  that way since start. Believe Ted is stressing the options requiring all the same such as color finish inlays, bridge etc. Hence the new topic

Correct, pickup options in the Forum V Spec Vote thread have been approved as was the Bigsby option.

To keep this thread fresh and to ask a genuine question, i was wondering, would it be possible to have the Larrivee HB's do coil splitting?  I don't really know what is involved in this, so forgive me if this is a ridiculous question, but it would sure be cool to add that kind of versatility.  The reason I bring this up here is that if it is a simple enough modification, maybe it could be part of the forum V.  Any thoughts?

While anything is possible, the Larrivee humbuckers are made like vintage ones, with a hot wire and a ground sleeve around it ... Larrivee would have to change this wiring scheme and go to a four wire set-up for the tapping.

I personally find coil taps superfluous on a HxH guitar with two volumes and two tones...you can already pull a LOT of tones out of the guitar that way...and everything's still humbucking. With standard coil taps, you've introduced single coil noise. You can wire them series/parallel, but again, this seems unnecessary, and with some humbuckers (especially low output, vintage style ones), the single coil sound is anemic and unconvincing.

Ok, I agree, I would prefer the full vintage style HB's to having to change the design just for single coil effect.  Thanks for the knowlege.
