I recently ran across an interesting Larrivee in Grapevine, TX at Grapevine Guitar Works (grapevineguitarworks.com).  It is a twelve-fret 000 body, but has the regular headstock (not slotted).  The nut width appears to be 1 13/16 like the 000-50.  It is definitely a spruce top with Mahogany back and sides.   The sticker in the Guitar says Larrivee, Made in USA, 2011 ... and the designation inside the guitar (above the serial #) says:   000-03.     What guitar is this???

Larrivee announced some new models at the NAMM show. One was a 000-03. Looks like you found one....

Yep, thats what it is.

Would appreciate you not posting dealer prices on the forum. People might think you're a shill for the dealer.  I've editted that out of your post.

:laughin:............................................................... couldn't help it

I have heard great things about the OOO-03.  In fact, I spoke with Matthew Larrivee regarding these recent NAMM 03-models.  He said he was particularly pleased with the sound of the OOO-03

The OOO-03 is made at the Oxnard facility.

Are there no pics of this guitar anywhere???  I know it will induce GAS but I want to see one regardless...

Nice guitar - I just don't get the ($650 heavier) price tag over a standard 03 though, it is after all a 03-series with a plain bridge, paddle head, micro-dot fret board markers, Tusk nut/saddle and the satin finish. The list price is just below that of the 05 series.
It does have Schallers and hog b&s though.  :thumb

Why did they have to come out with that now...I'm broke!

And I can't sell the baritone...or the FIV...even the rarely-played-these-days FIII

Oh well, one day.  I'd love an SD-03 too.

It looks real nice. The case is an upgrade as well.   I would like to see the herringbone perfling as well as the rosette, but that is another upgrade.

Just got one of these delivered from Jason at Notable a week ago. Really solid guitar with excellent tone and volume and as usual plays like a dream right out of the case and really does sound out with the finger playing which is why I got it, I don't use a pick. Got into that after my daughters would always tell me to turn down the D-03 back when I used a pick. Thanks again Jason. I think this was a limited run but it should be a regular model in my opinion.  The extra 16th on the nut width makes it much friendlier for my fat fingers. It is a beautiful plain Jane guitar with the satin finish and all. I guess guitars are like women in a way some just don't need all the makeup and frills to make them fine. This guitar is one of those.

I'll try to put some pics up if I can get them together.

In reference to the price, I talked with Jason at Notable Guitars about the 000-03 and it was offered at quite a bit (alot) lower than the Elderly price.  It sounds like 'SLARRIVEE' picked up the guitar and I'm very envious.  Now I want one even more!  LOL.

:cheers

It's a beautiful looking guitar and I always wanted a Larrivee 000 but except for the wider nut width it's just too close to the F-III in size for me to justify.   :donut  :coffee

Oh man, this is compelling for a guys who's always dreamed about a 000-50.  Can't find specs and the Elderly photos don't really show - do we think this has the same specs as the 000-50 with the exception of the slothead and matt finish; specifically would it have the shifted X bracing and the enlarged sound hole?

By the pictures I would say yes, that looks like a pretty big sound hole to me, at least compared to my LS.  I don't think it would make any sense for them to change the basic design.

Plus, the soundhole labels are being signed by Jean on these limited 03's.   :nice guitar:

Don't have the camera right now to take any pictures for you but there are those at Elderly online. The measurements for the 000-03 seem identical to the 000-50 taking some rough measurements. The soundhole is 4.25 inches across if that helps you. I can tell you this baby is nice and loud fingerpicking. I haven't taken a pick to her I just thumb strum but it is sweet. It comes with an archtop case with a blueish inside. As I remember someone had some video on YouTube playing one but I'm not sure if it was one of these newer ones. I could be wrong but it appears to me to be the 000-50 without the slothead or the finish. Just the nice satin finish no frills guitar. If you can find one I don't think you would be dissappointed by it at all. This one is a keeper. I might have to take this one to the grave with me, yeah I think I will take this one to heaven with me. It might give me the edge I need to get in.
