I've seen a few Larrivee mandolins over the years.  They made some A-styles with F-style headstocks.  A bit odd but nice-looking.  I wish they had made more mandolins and broke more into the market.

Well, it took 4 years from my last post in this thread, but I got a Loar LM-110 last year as part of a trade for an unwanted guitar.
I like it, it plays pretty good, but I won't ever be a quick picker, just use it for grace notes and background.

Took in a cheapo teardrop shape 'palmer' brand Mandolin a couple of months ago.  it has the classic cheap instrument issue of too high of a nut overall.  I have signed up for a guide on setting up mandolins to try to help me correct for this issue.  Have not started on the project yet
