Apologies to the many posters who had something positive and civil to say. But the duck raised his ugly head and wise quacked in his usual corrosive manner. I got really angry and posted in return. Then realized I could delete his posts by deleting the whole thread.
Sorry but his garbage is not tolerated by me anymore in anyway under any banner.

Maybe I should start a topic. "Do you like the Larrivee Forum?"

Yes, I like my (two) Larrivees very much indeed.

My '83 L07 has been with me so long, it's like a friend.  It's the one I would automatically pick up to learn something on, or to try and play a song for the first time.  It is the oldest of all my guitars and the one I chose as "my guitar", never even thinking I could actually have more than one some day.  If I was forced to go back to having only one guitar, my L07 would be the one I would save, no doubt about it.

I like my recently aquired '85 L model 12-string because it's a twin to my other one in almost every way.  And because it's my first 12-string at the same time.  Mostly, I like it because it's just sounds so beautiful when strumming chords.  I would call it jingly jangly and like an organ at the same time.  I've only begun to explore its possibilities.

So you are saying it is a waste of one's time and effort to post in any of your threads? Point taken, doorknob.

Andrew, I didn't get the impression that was what Dan was saying at all.  I can't speak for him, but I would say he's just trying to keep the thread on the original topic.
It doesn't make any sense to assume that how he dealt with this thread has any connection to any other threads.  That's illogical (Dr. Spock)

A number of people took the time to post their thoughts only to have them tossed away -- highly inappropriate in my opinion. Is that how he'll deal with it the next time someone posts something he doesn't like in a thread he starts? Perhaps this one will be re-deleted now.

I said something 100% different . Just read it and take it for what it's worth. And of all the topics I have started and posted it is a very slim percentage indeed that I delete.  How about you starting some and let some wise cracker berate you and see how you feel about it?

I don't post on this forum to be ridiculed, have my anger stirred up or be judged inferior because I have other brands of guitars.
If I come here and get the same misery found in traffic jams I would just as soon leave. Maybe that's the ends meant by posters who have nothing to say but condescending high school style badgering.

I used to like this place. :donut

I like my Larrivee very much, so much I am looking at buying another. Dan, I agree on the negativity of some posters. See my post on "What do you miss about the good old days" understand

You shouldn't let anything posted on any forum bother you.  The civil minded users felt the same way you did, but the best thing to do is ignore it - a troll ignored is a troll that will go away.  Deleting the whole thread just adds fuel to the troll's fire because he/she knows it got to you and will now has a reason to do it again.

Oh, and as I said before, I love my Larrivee.
If insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, is it insane to practice?

Practice is the art of learning to play what you hear in your head.

Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black if you ask me.  You don't like what someone wrote in a thread you started so you deleted the whole thing and start another thread singling out an individual and trashing them publicly.

There's an "ignore" button that just might be the ticket for you.

And to answer your question, yes I do like the Larrivee Forum.  Do you?

I try and not reply to threads by Dan as I once did,I got slapped down, then laughed at when I pointed out his manner, sorry Dan but you can come across as overpowering,so deleting threads is not going to help change some peoples opinions on you,I know that I for one post less because of your shortness with people.

I have been a member of the Larrivée Guitar Forum since 2007 and I still turn to it as a valuable source of information regarding a question that I may raise about my L-03, a general guitar technique or technical question and many other topics regarding guitars and playing them.  So the response to the secondary question is, "Yes. I do like the Larrivée Forum."

Now, regarding the original posted thread, essentially, I now have one guitar ... an acoustic ... a Larrivée L-03 (mahogany back and sides) that I bought in 2006.

I love this guitar ... the sound that it makes when 'I' play it ... the looks ... the way it feels when I pick it up ... the compliments that it gets from friends and fellow players ... the fact that it is Canadian-made, eh!!

I do have the money (but not the inclination) to now own a number of guitars ... my Larrivée L-03 meets all of my playing demands ... and I think I'll keep it until ... well forever.

I consider myself very fortunate indeed to own a Larrivée ... not every can or does ... and I am certainly very happy with mine.

Glad to have the opportunity to participate.  Have a great day.   :bgrin:

Now that's unfair....a bunch of us will have to wonder what we missed out on.

Wow, I apologize and hope to get out of that kind of treatment of anyone. I really do mean it. I am sorry.
To the rest who want to post in this thread, have at it. It was a personal attack against me that caused me to delete the thread. Plus I had already had a really , really lousy day. Those kind of posts irritate me always, but yesterday it was like a fiery arrow and I couldn't let it go at that moment.
Today I could. But that's me.

You are exactly right.  I just noticed the  symbol use. That pretty much sums up how I was feeling.

cheers,well said.

Well, I missed the fun in the deleted thread and I am not sure if I'm still on topic, but I really love my Larrivee OM-2. Since I got her, I bought  my hogtop Lakewood and I had a wonderful guitar built by an 82 year old luthier. (Now that I remember I did not show her, I'll open a thread soon).
But I still love my OM-2 for her balanced sound, her lovely Sitka top and her neck, smooth as silk.
I'm so full of love for my guitars that I probably should get another one  :winkin:

Haven't been around much here lately, so this thread is eye-opening.  Calling someone a doorknob seems pretty immature.  But,

The Forum IV is still my favorite guitar, even more than my Martin D-18GE.
Play it daily for best results.

True enough.

My apologies to Dan and fellow forumites. At the time I had just popped back in to re-read the thread and respond to a particular post when I discovered that "poof" it was all gone and replaced with a rant. One thing to delete one's own posts, but to delete the work of others (mostly good contributions) by deleting the whole thread struck me as ... well ... heavy handed.

At any rate, I do like my Larrivee -- it is an old friend.

cheers,
