Kudos to (gulp) Yoko

Let me begin by saying that for decades, rightly or wrongly, I have loathed Yoko Ono.  I have always considered her as being one of the main reasons the Beatles broke up.  For sure, she was the one who prevented them from reuniting for the Concert for Bangledesh.  I have always thought of her as a vampire...living off the blood of John Lennon....using his legacy to get facetime whenever and wherever possible.  If I was watching a special on the Beatles, and her face popped up and she opened her yap, I changed channels (much as I do whenever Obama's mug show up on the screen :laughin:).

However, I saw a special on the art of John Lennon last night, and it seems that Yoko has been traveling the world, setting up exhibits of Lennon's artwork.  Not to make money, but just to let the world see that his talent was quite expansive in that genre also.  So, much as it pains me to say it...in this case....good going Yoko.

OK, so now all you have to do is accept the O man and all is good with the world.   :laughin:

Well, the world will be much improved this November, and exponentially improved in 2012.
O man = Jimmy Carter II  :cop:

At this point in time, although I am no fan of her caterwauling on Bungalo Bill and beyond, I think it's silly to blame Yoko for the choices that John Lennon made. Including choosing Yoko Ono.
What's that got to do with holding the president responsible for the choices he's  made? No wait!

I guess it had to be something about his face that bothers you. I think we know why.
If it sounds good, it is good.

What are you saying, my friend? Innuendo is not required. We're all adults here.

Explain your statement please.  Be specific.

I do hope your insinuation is not based upon that pathetic, hackneyed democratic talking point that anyone who disagrees with Obama's socialist policies must be doing so out of latent, or outright, racism.  That's not what you're implying, is it?  Please, step up to the plate and explain yourself.  Lastly, I do believe that you might want to change the plural "we" in your statement to the singular "I".

Well, it appears that cajones aren't one of the requirements for tossing out baseless innuendos and accusations.  Big surprise there.

I think you mean cojones.  Although kudos to YOU if you're trying to put the thread back on a musical subject.

You must have realized that the thread would take an ugly turn once you mentioned the president, right?  Was your real intent to comment on Yoko or to polarize the forum?

Oh I see and your first post is meant to correct a regular's spelling and impugn his motives. Thanks.
Everyone is responsible for the decisions they make.

Actually, if you look at my original post, you'll see a laughy face after mentioning Obama..ie, humor, a joke.  However, when someone accuses me  of racism, it's NOT a joke.  Especially when I followed that up with comparing him to Jimmy Carter...who was white, the last time I looked. Get the difference?

Here is my attempt to hijack this thread and hopefully lighten the mood. Just checking and found Duck and walker are both ignored by 5 people. What if it is the same 5 people and there is a conspiracy? What if the conspiracy goes further than duck and walker? What if Yoko started the conspiracy? What if the "o" man is part of the conspiracy. What if I just stop while I am not too far behind?

Although casually referring to those you disagree with as "dimwits" is just so charming. It seems that dissent is no longer the highest form of patriotism, as namecalling has taken its place.

You have no idea who I agree with or not.  The OP has enough posts to know the rules are clear on political posts.  To ignore the rules defines him as dimwitted to me.  It's got nothing to do with patriotism and everything to do with following rules agreed to when signing up on the group.
