Anyone have pics or more info on the new Larrivee 3 piece neck?  I've heard there is a stacked heel, but are there also joints elsewhere, like near the headstock?  I never heard of a stacked heel, looked around for a pic of what it was, and found this, on some custom guitar:

D-02E

A stacked heel has been used by about every Asian guitar company from the beginning of their introduction to the American market. Just look closely and you will see one piece (or two) from the heel cap up to the neck extension curve towards the peghead. A lot of builders use them, even on some pricey models.
The better ones match the grain flow and the color, making it harder to spot.

If you use a scarf joint at the headstock it only makes sense to stack the heel.

Martin used them in the 1800's.

Yup, but it is a lot easier to go pick up a beater and examine it under a bright light. :winkin:

Look close and you will see the straight line on this pic that shows it is a two piece heel.
