This is a shame on this nice old Larrivee  What should this oldie fetch in such condition?

D-02E

It can be fixed easily enough but I'd pay as little as possible for it, in that condition. If the seller repaired it first, it would be worth more. Old Larrivees in good shape are commanding just under 2k, or less. What would you pay for this?

Add says there is also damage to the bottom back, (V shaped crack) but doesn't show a pic of that part.  I would want to see a pic of that before I bid.  I agree wouldn't pay/bid very much.  If the damage truly doesn't affect the tone or playabity, then could be a very good bargain.  Maybe it just plays fine as it is and you don't have to pay someone to fix it.  After all, think of Willie Nelson's guitar.  But how does one know for sure?   At least it has higher end inlays, etc.  So far, bids are pretty low.  So, to answer your question, I wouldn't go above $300.00 for a bid on it.

A dollar.Just from the damage that is being shown your looking at a costly repair{if done right}.You'll spend at least $300 on the butt repair alone.

I scrolled down as suggested and saw the back damage.  Unclrob, what would you estimate a luthier would charge someone to do a repair like that and do it proper like you say?  I'm thinking a bid of around 300.00 plus the cost of repair would still make it a pretty good buy.  There is a local luthier near me that I might take the pics to and see what he would charge.  Looks like the seller doesn't ship to Canada, though.  The guitar seems to be the same vintage as mine given the label inside.  It also looks a lot like mine but with higher end appointments.  Would the serial number 191702 make it an L-09 model?  Or is there such a thing as an L-19 model?  My L-07 has 07 as the first two digits in it's S/N

I just looked at the damage to the back and by just looking at the picture I'd have to say that the end block could be seperated from the back and the butt.Fairly bad damage and a real bear to repair. You should check and see what the cost is up there.I'd say at least without having it in hand $500-$600 with lots depending on what I found having it in hand.It so hard to tell via a picture.I don't think the L19's were made then.

Thanks for that info Rob.  I will check with the fellow here also.  Sounds like quite a bit more than I thought, though.  So much for that idea.

PS Finally got my clamps and caul from stewmac a couple of days ago.  Gonna start on that bridge repair tomorrow.

Was watching this one on Ebay.  Went for $486.00 U.S.  So I guess I would have been out bid had I gone for my max.  $300.00 I was suggesting.

EDIT:  I didn't bid on it, I'm just sayin.  I've spent enough money on guitars lately to last a long time.  And will likely be spending even more shortly. I.e my new (old) 12-string.
