Played two dread modals today just can't remember how the name went. They were both blackwoods one satin the other gloss finish. They came out of the case in tune and were ready to play.Volumn and tone were anything outstanding and I have no idea what they sell for.So I couldn't say anything about bang for the buck. The one thing that said no sale was the jack for the pickup system was a simple quater inch mounted on the side of the guitar and I saw no support wood inside of the guitar for it which say to me,expect damage to that spot.

As they say let the game's begin. :whistling:

Cole Clark Guitars are made in Australia.

I have to agree with you on the pickup jack.

That jack in the side wouldnt be a hard thing to re-enforce . I wouldnt worry about it unless you plan on playing out a lot . I would think a decent tech or luthier could re-inforce that easily.i wouldnt let something like that stop me from buying a guitar i liked .

Tony having them not do it is what make's me worry. It doesn't matter that its an easy fix and I would assume if your buying an electric acoustic you plan on plugging it in,it only takes one time to cause damage.I also wonder if it would be covered under there warranty. If a client came to me with this guitar I would advise them to return it,not that I don't want the work but it doesn't take that much as for me to do the job BUT I shouldn't have to.The questin is why they did it this way instead of thru the end block.

Gday Tony, the OP is a decent tech from all accounts.
I live 5 mins from the Cole Clark facility (and I actually work in the same suburb as the factory). Cole Clark is a company formed by some ex Maton craftsmen, and to me are very similar to Matons (go figure). Maton is also guilty of running the pick up jack through the side rather than the end block on some models. As for pricing, I can only go by what they sell for in Oz. They sell for less than a comparable Maton, and probably half of what a comparable Larrivee sells for.  In my opinion the dollar value pretty much equates to the quality of the instrument. Bang for buck? I'd still spend the extra and get a Larrivee.

Cheers, Scott.
