GAS Cure: Forum YouTube Channel?

In a different post about dealing with GAS several suggested that a cure (or a temporary reprieve) might be focusing on enjoying the guitars one has while striving to become a better player.

That suggestion, coupled with some YouTube links posted by other forum members, made me wonder whether it would be good to have a link to a YouTube channel expressly devoted to Larrivee Forum members.  This would be a great way to encourage Larrivee owners to "strut their stuff" with the Larrivee guitars they already own.

Since I am not that tech-savvy with such things, I am not sure this is even feasible.  But I thought it would be a great way to "meet" other forum members while encouraging our guitar playing.

not such a bad idea.  All that would be required is someone to set it up (I am happy to do it) and anyone who wishes to contribute a video can request the login details.  I suspect publishing the login details on the public forum might lead to misuse by lurkers.  Perhaps a sticky thread in the tachnique section could be available for posting the links, and one or a few poeple could be PMable for login details.

Exiting videos can be easily added to the channel playlist to negate the necessity to re-upload them.

Any one else think this is a good idea?

This sounds like FUN.

It feels like it would be easier to manage if folks posted their own youtube video and then included them in the Larrivée Forum Channel playlist. This means that if someone wants to edit details or manage the video later, they should be able to do that to the original upload rather than have to make changes to the Forum Channel.

I've only uploaded a couple of videos to youtube so I'm not completely clear on the details, but it seems simplest if people manage their own videos and we can link to them from a central location (Larrivée Forum Channel playlist).  Then I think all it would take is to have a thread where people post links to the videos that s/he would like to have included.

The volunteers could just add the videos to the playlist.

How does that sound?

I just checked on my little youtube channel. It's super easy to do.

If you want to set it up, I volunteer to be one of the people who will be available to add videos to the playlist.

I'll do it shortly ST, will be good fun.  I have a sore back, so can't play guitar, so it'll keep me amused for the evening.  I also volunteer to maintain it.  We can have the GOTM picture in the background, perhaps, to create a visual link with the forum.
