Well - they have to be careful about who they let in the country. You might end up being a law-abiding, tax-paying, productive member of society. It you're too self-reliant, you won't need them or their handouts... and if you ever DID become a citizen, you might not vote the right way.

I miss my visits to Canada. I usually get 3-4 trips up north every year but have come up empty for 2020 and Now it looks 2021 is off the table too.

Even as a Canadian citizen, with a negative COVID test, it was made quite difficult for me to return to Canada. The worst thing is that they changed the rules after I left. Hopefully, this doesn't last forever.

Well, I'm trying not to say anything of a partisan political nature. I'm to the point where I pretty much don't believe anyone and dislike all media and everyone in politics when it comes to that. At least, I assume that everyone prefers freedom and peace to any of the alternatives.

I know all the rest of you who live in places where it is regularly hot are going to laugh....but dang, it's hot here.  Pacific Northwest, and it's usually 70F on a warm day.  80F is a heat wave.  It's over 105F  in the north county right now.  About 90F and rising where I am, which is right on the Bay.  Going to be hotter tomorrow.  (And yes, most of us do not have AC).

It is 30 degrees cooler in SoCal than it is in Oregon now.

I went for my walk early to beat the heat. Here's the view at 4:00 am - 77 degrees.

PMW people don't have a/c's.N.Fla. seems to be cooler this year we keep our a/c at 80 and run 2 dehumifiers ,ceiling fans,floor fans and table fans.

I didn't say anything about hating people. Merely systems and how they affect people. People who enforce the ideology do so for many reasons, stupid being only one of them and a minor one at that.

In happier news, the "I have more squash and zucchini than I can eat" point has arrived early this year. The garden is very happy due to a good load of organics harvested from a nearby dairy farm. Will soon be at the same point with tomatoes and green beans!

Puts me in mind of Greg Brown's "Canned Goods"...

Apropos of nothing and the anguished cry of "I'm melting", here's the view this morning at 4:45 am. It was 25 degrees Celsius (77 Fahrenheit).

I'm usually somewhere near this spot around sunrise which happened today at 5:09 am.

It's 34 C / 93 F now.
