Does an AC power filter reduce noise in an amp?

I am using a Fender Acoustasonic Junior DSP amp and I can hear some noise. Would an AC Filter reduce some of that static noise? I believe the static I hear is normal. I have heard it in other amps. It is directly proportional to the volume.

If you're getting some especially bad noise (such as your amp spiking when somebody turns on the power tools), then a really good filter might help.

Most of the time if you're especially high noise levels, there's a pretty clear source -- such as an electrically-noisy refrigerator or motor on the same circuit, a bad ground, scratchy plugs / connectors etc.  Try plugging your amp into a power socket in different rooms and see if that helps

If not, this might just be the noise level of the amp itself.  Has it ever been any better (or worse) than now?

Thanks for the reply Roundlake, I have only had the amp for 4 weeks. It has been the same since I bought it. I just did a little more research and it is the 2nd channel that is making the noise. hmmm more digging required. Anyone else use the same amp?

I just got back from trying out a couple of other new amps at a local shop. They all sound about the same. I guess mine is normal..
