Hi all-  If you haven't seen it I'm putting together a map of FIII homes, see "Forum III Guitar Map of Buyers" post.  Please reply with city and git number (and type, so I don't have to look it up on the list).

549 near the bottom is mine, and i think the one below 543 could well be Lynda's, as it ends in a 4 (which i think makes it a 1 in 3 chance it is 544, plus it is next to 543)

We think alike. I was thinking the same thing, but obviously won't know for sure until I get a clear look at the full number. I was OK with the waiting for this, but now that some of us know our numbers (sorry to those of you that don't yet) and we're seeing pics, it's getting REALLY hard.

Nowhere, but I'm two songs behind in my homework so after I drop the kid off, in about 15 minutes, the PC goes off. Except to obsessively check the progress of my Bubinga,lol.

Holly- I think those are just spacers to keep the area open for the herringbone inlay. To the abalone idea, those of us that ordered HD purfling wouldn't want abalone in the rosette. Wouldn't really match well. Just my opinion. Abalone rosette with abalone purfling matches, but I think that's too much bling. We all wanted a low bling guitar; that was my understanding. The HB gives it kinda a vintage look, along with the satin finish. Hope it's not for abalone !

As of today all Forum III guitars have been started. Rosewood guitars are at the forefront carving the path for the South American mahogany. Components for these guitars are moving along and will be ready as the guitars progress. Mahogany tops will be rosetted in the next few days. Be patient with photo's and lists. All good things in all good time.

More photos just posted to Facebook!!! Lots of hog pictures.  Confirms that the all hogs are just labeled LS-03 M or MH with a - LH designation for lefty's.

In celebration of seeing the hogtops, I'm releasing my home-hack version of "Waitin".
Thanks Bluesman67 for directing me to reverbnation.com.  I tried uploading to putfile.com and kept getting miffed.

This is an awesome site.  I was up and running in probably 2 minutes or less, no joke.

Caveat emptor:  I'm nowhere close to the level of Flatlander and his now classic "The Wait".

But I figure what the heck...toss it out there.

I tried to follow the crazy phrasing of the lyrics.  I also clearly can't hit some (all? :smile:) of the notes...and I botched it big-time at the end but left it in anyway.  I was going to try to overdub some mandolin on it, but chickened out.

Oh...and it's played on my silver oak (with old strings, sorry).

Grin and bear it.
